The upcoming Nissan Juke EV is poised to significantly impact the electric vehicle market, marking Nissan’s fourth electric offering. With production set to occur at the Sunderland factory in the UK, this model aims to attract a diverse range of customers while maintaining the bold design ethos that the Juke is known for.
Since its launch in 2010, the Juke has sold over 1.5 million units in Europe, establishing itself as a key player in the compact crossover segment. The introduction of the Juke EV is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Europe, which is central to the company’s electrification goals.
Built on Nissan’s CMF-EV platform, the Juke EV will feature advanced technology, including Vehicle-to-Grid capabilities. This innovative function allows the vehicle to interact with the power grid, providing benefits to both users and the energy system.
Expected to launch in spring 2027, the Juke EV will share technology with the popular Nissan Leaf, which boasts a maximum range of 386 miles and offers battery options of 52kWh and 75kWh. This shared technology is anticipated to enhance the Juke’s performance and efficiency.
Pricing for the Juke EV is projected to be in the mid to high £20,000 bracket, making it competitive within the electric vehicle market. Additionally, its local production may qualify it for government incentives, potentially further enhancing its appeal.
Clíodhna Lyons, a representative from Nissan, stated, “The new Juke will help us reach new customers within the EV market,” emphasizing the brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. She also highlighted the Juke’s legacy of bold design, saying, “JUKE has always stood for bold design and a willingness to challenge convention.”
As the Juke EV prepares for its debut, Nissan continues to emphasize its commitment to a fully electric future. Massimiliano Messina, another key figure at Nissan, noted, “Europe is central to Nissan’s electrification strategy, and we remain firmly committed to a fully electric future.”
With its unique design inspired by the Hyper Punk concept, the Juke EV is set to challenge conventional automotive aesthetics while catering to a variety of customer needs. As the launch date approaches, details remain unconfirmed, and further developments are expected in the lead-up to its release.
