In March 2026, Air France raised flight prices by up to €50 to address the impact of rising fuel prices, which now account for 45% of airlines’ operating costs, a significant jump from the previous 25%. This increase reflects broader trends in the airline industry, exacerbated by the ongoing Middle East crisis that has driven fuel and kerosene prices higher.

As part of these adjustments, an additional €50 surcharge will be applied to long-haul round-trip tickets in both economy and premium economy classes starting in April 2026. Over the past two months, the cumulative increase for long-haul flights has reached an average of €100, while short- and medium-haul tickets will see an average rise of €10.

Notably, Air France’s low-cost subsidiary, Transavia, will also implement similar price increases. However, passengers who have already purchased their tickets will not incur additional fees due to these hikes.

In a bid to enhance the travel experience, Air France is also introducing new desserts in its Business Class, designed by Nina Métayer, the World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2023. “I designed these desserts to be true travel companions. I’ve created rich yet light pastries to take travellers on a sensory journey, whilst evoking the charm of faraway destinations,” Métayer explained.

The new dessert offerings include a raspberry and coconut creation and a lemon verbena dessert, which will be available on flights starting in 2026. Air France’s Business Class menu is curated by Régis Marcon, a three-Michelin-starred chef, ensuring a high standard of culinary excellence.

Additionally, Air France allows Business Class passengers to pre-select their main course up to 24 hours before departure, a measure aimed at reducing food waste. The airline prioritizes French-origin ingredients for meat, dairy, and eggs in its menus, reinforcing its commitment to quality and sustainability.
