Row K is currently facing a challenging situation as it reevaluates its business model following substantial financial losses. The company lost around $10 million on the January release of ‘Dead Man’s Wire’, prompting senior executives, including Megan Colligan, to consider leaving the organization.

In a recent development, Colligan and two other senior executives are reportedly in talks to exit Row K. This comes at a time when the company is backed by Media Capital Technologies (MCT) and has acquired four films at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

One of the films, ‘Poetic License’, will be put back on the market after being championed by Colligan, indicating a shift in strategy for the company.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, emergency services responded to a fire that started at Inferno, a sun bed business on the Antrim Road, at around 7 pm. Local resident Cathy Toal reported, “I got a call at about 7pm about the fire. When I got here, the place was cordoned off and the fire service were here already.” Thankfully, she noted, “no one was hurt.”

In another notable event, adventurers Sean Phelps and Jonny Towers successfully rowed 3,200 miles from Lanzarote to Antigua, arriving a day ahead of schedule. They were greeted by cheering crowds and have raised £15,928.84 towards their £50,000 charity target.

Phelps expressed his motivation, stating, “I think it’s an amazing thing to do and I’ve watched a few events and I want to just make my family proud of that, proud of their dad and husband.” Towers added, “To support the two great charities we’re doing it for – Care After Combat and Samaritans – we’ve both lost friends through mental health problems and suicide.”

As Row K navigates these challenges, observers are keen to see how the company will adapt its strategies moving forward. The upcoming release dates for their films, including ‘Cliffhanger’ on August 28, 2025 and ‘Charlie Harper’ on September 25, 2025, will be critical in determining their future direction.
