North Macedonia to Host Junior Eurovision 2026
North Macedonia is set to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on March 7, 2026, marking a significant milestone as it will be the first time the country hosts this particular event.
Historically, North Macedonia has been a participant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception, competing nearly every year except for 2012, 2014, and 2020. In 2025, North Macedonia achieved a commendable 7th place, scoring 141 points.
In related news, Senhit will represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, alongside renowned artist Boy George. Senhit has previously represented San Marino in 2011 and 2021, and her participation in 2026 marks her fourth time representing the country.
The recent Dreaming San Marino Song Contest concluded with 21 finalists, and the voting was entirely comprised of jury votes, accounting for 100% of the decision-making process. San Marino has participated in Eurovision every year since their debut in 2008, with their best result being 19th place in 2019.
In a statement regarding the hosting of the event, Roberto Sergio mentioned, “We have actually applied. San Marino has submitted its candidacy to the EBU, but unfortunately we will not be hosting the event because another country applied before us, so that country will be contacted first.”
Meanwhile, the UK has faced challenges in recent years, making the top 10 in the Eurovision final only once in the last 16 years. For Eurovision 2026, the UK entry will be performed by Look Mum No Computer with a song titled “Eins, Zwei, Drei.”
Look Mum No Computer expressed concerns about the voting process, stating, “There’s a lot of stuff going on with the voting, a lot of favouritism and stuff.” This sentiment reflects ongoing discussions about the transparency and fairness of the voting system in Eurovision competitions.
As the date for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest approaches, observers are keen to see how North Macedonia will execute this event and what surprises may unfold during the competition.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding additional participants and the full lineup for the event.
