What the data shows
What steps is Chester Zoo taking to improve the experience for families with young children? The zoo has recently updated its baby-changing areas in collaboration with babycare brand Pura, aiming to provide a more convenient and eco-friendly environment for parents visiting the zoo.
These updated facilities will feature Pura’s nappies and wipes available for purchase, ensuring that parents have access to high-quality, toxin-free baby products during their visit. In total, Chester Zoo will have 14 baby-change rooms, strategically located throughout the premises to cater to the needs of families.
As part of this initiative, Pura’s eco-friendly products are set to be available in the zoo shop by Easter, allowing parents to make responsible choices while enjoying their day out. Guy Fennell, the founder of Pura, stated, “Pura was born to provide all parents with soft, safe and toxin-free baby products, made responsibly,” emphasizing the brand’s commitment to sustainability and safety.
In addition to enhancing family facilities, Chester Zoo is home to the Heart of Africa exhibit, which is the largest zoo habitat ever created in the UK, spanning an impressive 22 acres. This expansive area houses more than 57 highly threatened African species, showcasing the zoo’s dedication to conservation efforts.
Chester Zoo’s conservation projects focus on protecting animals in Central and East Africa, aligning with its mission to promote biodiversity and educate the public about the importance of wildlife preservation. The zoo’s efforts are not only about providing entertainment but also about fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by endangered species.
Moreover, the Chester Zoo app enhances the visitor experience by allowing guests to place food orders from 11.30 am onwards, making it easier for families to manage their time during their visit. This feature is part of the zoo’s ongoing commitment to improving accessibility and convenience for all visitors.
As Chester Zoo continues to evolve, it remains focused on enhancing the experience for families while also prioritizing conservation and education. The introduction of these new facilities marks a significant step forward in creating a welcoming environment for parents and their children. However, details remain unconfirmed regarding any future expansions or additional features that may be introduced as part of this initiative.
