Mike Evans Signs with San Francisco 49ers
In a significant move for both Mike Evans and the San Francisco 49ers, Evans has signed a three-year deal worth up to $60.4 million, marking a new chapter in his career after 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Evans, who was selected seventh overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, has established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL. Over his career, he has been named to six Pro Bowls and holds the record for the most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons to start a career, a feat he shares with the legendary Jerry Rice.
During his time with the Buccaneers, Evans recorded 108 receiving touchdowns and amassed 13,052 receiving yards, contributing significantly to the team’s success, including their victory in Super Bowl LV during the 2020 season.

Gilmore further explained that Evans was seeking a new challenge, emphasizing, “In the end, this decision simply came down to Mike wanting a new challenge and a fresh opportunity while he still feels he has a great deal left to give the game.”
While Evans has moved on, Tampa Bay will always hold a special place in his heart. Gilmore remarked, “Tampa Bay will always be a special place for Mike Evans, and his respect and gratitude for the organization and its fans will never change.”
