Qatar’s Prime Minister Criticizes Iran
“It is a big sense of betrayal. Just an hour after the start of the war, Qatar and other Gulf countries have been attacked,” stated Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar, in a recent address regarding Iran’s actions in the Gulf region.
Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks come amid escalating tensions as Iran has been accused of launching missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries, including Qatar. The Prime Minister described these attacks as unexpected and emphasized the need for a diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict.
He further noted, “We continue to seek de-escalation. They are our neighbours – it’s our destiny,” highlighting Qatar’s efforts to maintain constructive ties with Tehran despite the recent hostilities.
The Prime Minister warned that the miscalculation by Iran in attacking Gulf countries could destabilize the region and impact the global economy. He stated, “The miscalculation by the Iranians to attack Gulf countries has destroyed everything,” reflecting the gravity of the situation.
