Leslie Odom Jr. Returns to Hamilton
“Returning to Hamilton and revisiting the role of Aaron Burr with the growth and perspective of time has been a profoundly healing artistic experience,” said Leslie Odom Jr. as he prepares to reprise his acclaimed role in the West End.
Odom will perform at the Victoria Palace Theatre from July 3 to September 5, 2026, marking a significant return for the actor who originally won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Aaron Burr on Broadway. His performance is highly anticipated, as he also played the role in the Disney+ film adaptation of Hamilton.
Since its London debut in 2017, Hamilton has made a substantial impact, winning seven Olivier awards and captivating audiences with its innovative storytelling and musical score by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Current cast members include Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton and Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, but Odom’s return is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the production.
Cameron Mackintosh expressed his excitement about Odom’s return, stating, “I’m absolutely thrilled that London will now be able to share the experience of Leslie for a short season.” He reminisced about Odom’s electric performance during the show’s New York try-out, which left a lasting impression on him.
Odom’s engagement will open with priority booking at 11 am on March 12, 2026, followed by general booking at 11 am on March 13, 2026. Details regarding the full casting for the company will be announced soon, with casting set to begin on June 15, 2026.
As anticipation builds for this limited engagement, Odom’s return is seen as a significant moment for both the actor and the production, promising to deliver a memorable experience for West End audiences.
Hamilton tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton, exploring his contributions during the American Revolution and his complex personal life, which continues to resonate with audiences today.
With Odom’s return, fans of the musical are eager to witness his performance once again, as he brings his unique interpretation of Burr back to the stage.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional cast announcements, but the excitement surrounding Odom’s West End debut is palpable.
